Location: At Saugus Iron Works NHS about 10 mi. N of Boston.
From I95 N or S take Walnut St. exit (43). Go E towards Lynn and follow NPS brown signs 3.5 miles. From Route 1 N. Take Main St. , Saugus exit and follow signs east. Public bus #430 runs daily (not Sun) from Malden subway stop (Orange Line). 10 Miles N of Boston.
The Saugus Iron Works NHS Nature Trail traverses the historic site and adjacent riverside woodlands. The trail overlooks the Saugus River, tidal mudflats and other wetlands, and includes dramatic scenic vistas of the restored 17th - century iron works site at Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site.
