50 miles south of I-10 off AZ 92. The road, S. Coronado Memorial Boulevard (leads into East Montezuma Canyon Road), joins AZ 92 20 miles S. of Sierra Vista and 25 miles W. of Bisbee. Road is paved for 1 mile W of visitor center only. The trailhead for Coronado Peak trail is located at Montezuma Pass Overlook in Coronado National Memorial. The overlook is three miles past the visitor center on E. Montezuma Canyon Road. The first mile is paved and the last two miles are dirt road. The Coronado Peak Trail is 0.4 miles one way. Trail begins at Montezuma Pass. Interpretative signs, posted at scenic overlooks along the trail, provide a glimpse into the history and culture of the 1540s expedition of Francisco Vasquez de Coronado. From Coronado Peak, trace the path of the conquistadors while enjoying the beauty of the San Pedro and San Rafael Valleys and the panoramic views of the desert grasslands.
