Location: In the Carson National Forest running between Taos and Angel Fire, NM. Can be accessed from numerous locations including (from east to west) Forest Road 76 southwest of Angel Fire, Forest Road 437 at Valle Escondido to Garcia Park, and El Nogal Day-Use S

Driving Directions

From Angel Fire: drive south on HWY 434, right turn onto Forest Road 76, trailhead is on righthand side of FR 76. From Valle Escondido: drive approximately 7 miles generally south on Forest Road 437 to Garcia Park...two trailheads are established on the east and west sides of the meadows leading off in seperate directions. From Taos: El Nogal is the first USFS recreation site in Taos Canyon as you head east towards Angel Fire on HWY 64, trail crosses the bridge on the western end of the parking lot.
